Building the camp begins this weekend - come up to help us!

After a few weeks of preparation, we are ready to begin setting up the Rossport Solidarity Camp. Come up to help us this weekend if you can. There'll be loads to do and it'll be great craic, so get off the internet and come give us a hand!

We're going to start moving infrastructure into the field from Friday 31st of May onwards, so there will be loads of jobs that we need help with this weekend, such as:

Moving pallets :)
Preparing food and cooking
Setting up the off-grid electrical system including wind turbine, solar panels and battery bank.
Hooking up water
Putting up Marquees
Moving compost toilets and repairing them
Setting up a bins for recycling
Moving the camp kitchen into one of the marquees
Repairing tables, counters
...and probably plenty more stuff...

It would be great if someone was on for photographing the build to promote the camp. The official extended week of events runs 21st to the 30th of June, and we're aiming to have everything ready before that.

Building the camp is a great chance to try your hand at lots of different things, learn new skills, and get a feel for the place.

Our local weather savant has told us that the great weather is promising to hold for the weekend so get off the internet and come up to help and have the craic :)

Check out some of these photos from camps past to get see what it'll be like:

See you this weekend :)
